I Got Involved in Scouting Because:

I got involved in scouting when I was in first grade for several reasons. I remember a Cubmaster had come to visit our class one day and left the impression that scouting was the coolest thing in the world. Also, all of my best friends were interested in it as well. So, in the end we went home and begged our parents to take us to a meeting, and since then I've been hooked on Scouting.

Scouting Prepared Me For Life By:

Scouting has prepared me for life in the fact that I learned that good character is key in life. I learned that though it's not always necessarily "cool" to do what is morally just; in the end it's what will leave you feeling best about yourself and others. Scouting has shown me what it takes to be successful on a scale larger than what schooling can typically offer. It has also shown me that being successful doesn't always equate to being the biggest and the best, but to whatever you want it to mean. In the end all that matters is whether or not you can stand by your own name and what you've done. Simply put Scouting has very much formed me into the person that I am today.

My Most Memorable Scouting Moment:

Currently, my best memory from Scouting is hiking across a parent's ranch on a troop outing using orienteering skills to locate our lunch. It sounds simple, but the amount of time that it took was insane! Let me say, that lunch ended up being more like a early dinner. In the end though we all had honed our orienteering skills to a T!
