I Got Involved in Scouting Because:

I joined scouting because of my dad. He use to tell us about stories when he was in Scouts as a kid andsince I wanted to be like dad and my older brother, I joined Scouts to be like them.

Scouting Prepared Me For Life By:

Scouting gave me a chance to explore the outdoors  and while doing so I fell in love with it. To this day I cherish and take advantage of every opportunity I am given to get outdoors with my family. Scouting also prepared me to lead myself through the journey of life.

My Most Memorable Scouting Moment:

My best Scouting story involves my oldest son who is now 14. About three years ago when he was in his first year of Boy Scouts, he called his scoutmaster to talk to him about finishing off the requirements for the rank of First Class before the troop's next Court of Honor which was in a couple weeks. I was in my office listening to the conversation and could only hear his side of it. One of the first things I heard my son say to his scoutmaster was what he needed to earn First Class. The list was "very" long and thought to myself there's no way he is going to get all of that done in less than two weeks.  As I was thinking that, I was wondering what was going through his scoutmaster's mind. Well anyway, long story short, he went to the next troop meeting, met with his scoutmaster and got everything he needed for First Class signed off. Needless to say I was very impressed.
