I Got Involved in Scouting Because:
Scouting in my family was a family tradition. My grandfather was not active as a youth because he served in the War, but was later recognized with the Silver Beaver Award. My father and older brother are both Eagle Scouts.
Scouting Prepared Me For Life By:
Along with being raised by great parents in a living home, Scouting laid the foundation of principles and values that I live by - Scouting taught me to care for other people, taught me about my relationship with God, taught me about my place as a citizen in the community, and how to work hard. I am a better leader today because I was a Boy Scout.
My Most Memorable Scouting Moment:
There is no question that my landmark Scouting experience was attending the 1997 National Scout Jamboree at Fort AP Hill, Virginia. at the time, I was a Scout in the Utah National Parks Council and we participated in a neat ten-day tour of New York, Philadelphia, & Washington DC historic sites.
I was fortunate to be able to be a part of the Centennial Jamboree in 2010. How awesome it was to return to the same camp and to relive that amazing memory.
