John Cabeza - Scout Executive/CEO

Mr. Cabeza joined the Denver Area Council January 1, 2010 and has over 33 years of leadership as a professional in the Scouting movement. Serving in seven different Boy Scout Councils, John has been Scout Executive/CEO in the New Orleans, Louisiana, Saint Petersburg, Florida and Shreveport, Louisiana. A native of North Carolina, he is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science.

Mr. Cabeza is committed to making the program of Scouting available to all eligible youth through effective relationships within the community. He is a member of the National Risk Management Advisory Panel and National Youth Protection Advisory Group of the Boy Scouts of America and has a proven track record of sound fiscal management, membership management/ retention, and youth program development. John is active in many civic, social, and community organizations, is an Eagle Scout and has earned the Vigil Honor of the Order of the Arrow.
