Receive Recognition for your Eagle Scout Project

As a member of the Eagle Scout Class of 2012, you are eligible to submit your Eagle Scout Project Workbook for consideration to receive one of these special awards: The Glenn A. and Melinda W. Adams National Eagle Scout Service Project of the Year Award or recognition from the Monaco South Denver Optimist Club. All Eagle Scouts that completed their Eagle Scout Board of Review in 2012 are eligible to submit an entry for one or both awards.

In cooperation with the National Eagle Scout Association, the Glenn A. and Melinda W. Adams National Eagle Scout Service Project of the Year Award will be presented for the fourth time to an Eagle Scout Class of 2012. This award is intended to recognize valuable service of an exceptional nature by a Scout to a religious institution, a school, community or other entity. Each local council will choose a council-level winner; from that pool each region will pick a region level winner.  From the four regional finalists an overall winner will be selected. The application is available at www.nesa.org and must be submitted with a copy of your Eagle Scout Project Workbook to the Hamilton Scout Headquarters by December 28, 2012. Please make copies of your workbook as entries will not be returned. All entries must be in a notebook form.

Now in its 14th year, the Monaco South Denver Optimist Club reviews outstanding projects and selects one recipient from each district in the Denver Area Council to receive an award. From those seven districts, an overall council winner is also selected. To be eligible for this award, Eagle Scouts must submit a copy of their project notebook to the Denver Area Council. Project Workbooks should be delivered to the Hamilton Scout Headquarters by December 28, 2012Please make copies of your workbook as entries will not be returned.  All entries must be in notebook form.

If you wish to submit your project for the Optimist and Adams Awards, please provide 2 copies of your project workbook.  Selections for both awards are done by volunteer committees and recipients will be notified in advance to attend the Eagle Scout Recognition Dinner. For questions regarding these awards, please email Sabine Berzins.
