Family Fun!

Whether you are 6 or 56, Magness Adventure Camp is the perfect place for your Scout and family to enjoy all the fun Colorado camping has to offer! While packs are encouraged to come as a group, many parents and boys choose to attend camp as a family. Parents and siblings (age 6 and up) are encourage to participate in activities with their Scouts. Magness Adventure Camp offers a unique age-specific, grade appropriate, exciting program for all Cub Scouts and their families who attend.

Your Camp Session

At check-in, each family or group will be assigned to a shelter, where you'll sleep in a comfortable tent complete with two padded bed frames. If needed, an extra sleeping pad for a third person or campers under the age of 5 can be checked out from the staff. Also, tents sit on platforms and you can close them at night for privacy. Modern and heated bathroom facilities include private hot showers and flush toilets are located at each shelter. All bathrooms are wheelchair accessible. Hot meals are prepared in the Pete Coors Commissary and served directly to you at your shelter. To learn more what happens at camp download the 2014 Magness Parent and Leader Guide.  It is important to note the Scout must be accompanied by an adult.

Check in starts at 1 p.m. on your first day with your first meal being dinner. You will depart after dinner on the last day.

Webelos Extreme Scouting Trek (W.E.S.T.)

We've renamed the program from M.E.S.A. to W.E.S.T., moved it to Camp Cortlandt Dietler, and added three more sessions. This camp is for Webelos I and II only.  The ratio is one adult for every five Scouts.

W.E.S.T. sessions will check-in at the regular time (1:00 pm) at the Dietler Commissary.  From check-in Webelos will begin working with the W.E.S.T. staff to form patrols, and work as teams to get to their campsites.  Webelos will set up their tents (which can be provided if needed), enjoy a dinner prepared by staff, and finish the evening with a campfire at one of the most hidden, and beautiful, campfire rings at PV.

Day two begins with Webelos-cooked (and staff-supervised) breakfast.  After a morning of Scouting Skills, the Webelos will experience many new activites, such as shooting sports, aquatics, and rappelling.

Day three includes more Scout skills and adventures, concluding with an evening campfire. Check-out will be at 9:00 am the following morning.*

All activities combine the appeal of more advanced outdoor activities with the essential Scout skills Webelos will need for the transition to Boy Scouts.  Throughout their stay, Webelos will also be introduced to the Scout Oath and Law, and practice basic requirements for the Scout rank.

We look forward to providing you and your Webelos with a W.E.S.T. experience you’ll enjoy and cherish.
