Report to the State
Over 150 youth delegates from the five councils in Colorado will attend the 2016 Report to the State at the State Capitol followed by the presentation of colors in the House Chambers hosted by Representative Paul Lundeen.
Welcome and thank you for joining the Denver Area Council for the Report to the State. The Report to the State will be held on Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at 8:00 am in the Old Supreme Courtroom at the Colorado State Capitol. Please plan on arriving 20 minutes early to allow for time to get through security and sign in. Please note: time is short, please be prepared.
Cost for the Report is $15 per person including parents and guardians and does include a box lunch and a commemorative patch. Parents and siblings are welcome, however all must register and pay $15 each - box lunch consists of a sandwich, chips, cookie, pickle and a beverage. Choice of sandwich is taken at time of registration.
Each Scout and Scouter needs to be in field uniform for this event. This means shirts buttoned and tucked in, pants or jeans clean with no holes and belted, all patches affixed correctly, scarf and tie slide. If the Scout resides in the Denver Area, please contact the council for assistance with a uniform or accessories if needed.
Immediately following the Report watch Scouts present the colors in the House Chambers before your Tour! Color Guard will begin at 9 am. Viewing can be done from the Gallery.
You are welcome to stay and listen to a live legislative session in the House or Senate before your scheduled afternoon Capitol Tour. Each tour starts at 10:00am (arrive by 9:45am) and is limited to 30 people including chaperones. Each tour will complete all areas of the Capitol including lunch and the Dome and event will end by 12:45pm. Please remember that this is a working facility and Scouts will be asked to obey the Scout Oath and Scout Law.
This is a popular event and early registration is recommended. Please plan accordingly as there will be no refunds. If for some reason you are unable to attend after registration, please contact Tiffany Viduya at 720.266.2165 as this will allow someone else to attend in your place.
Parents, please, do not drop your Scout off at the Capitol. While every parent need not attend, we do ask that Scouts be supervised.
This event is open to Scouts of all ages in the State of Colorado.
