Details:

The Valley District Day of Aquatics

This event will provide Cub Scouts, Webelos Scouts, Boy Scouts, Venture Crew members and adult leaders an opportunity to complete aquatic requirements for their program. 

  • Boy Scouts may earn their Swimming Merit Badge or Life Saving Merit Badge
  • Webelos may earn their Aquanaut Activity Pin
  • Ventures may work on the Scuba Discovery Session
  • Adults may complete Safe Swim Defense & Safety Afloat
  • Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts may complete rank required swim checks (time & staff permitting)

Details:

Swimming Fees: $12 (payable at the door) plus $5 if you want lunch; sack lunches are permitted if staying for the day.  Water and refreshments will be provided.

Swimming Merit Badge: 8:45AM to 12:30 PM - This event is now full. Sign-up is still possible but no guarantees.

  • Review the requirements before you attend class 
  • Bring a Scoutmaster signed blue merit badge card.
  • Bring a swimming suit, towel and your Scout Handbook to confirm the completion of the 2nd & 1st Class swimming requirements.
  • Bring extra clothing to wear in the water to create a flotation device.

Life Saving Merit Badge: 8:45AM to 4:45 PM

  • Review the requirements before you attend class 
  • Bring a Scoutmaster signed blue merit badge card.
  • Bring a swimming suit, towel and your Scout Handbook to confirm the completion of the 2nd & 1st Class swimming requirements.
  • Bring loose street clothing for your “GO” requirements (Since the clothing may get wet; bring something dry to go home in.)

Adult & Youth Safe Swim Defense & Safety Afloat: 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM

  • Review the requirements before you attend class.

Webelos Aquanaut Activity Pin: Schedule will be arranged based upon demand.

  • Review the requirements before you attend class 
  • Bring a parent or two-deep Den/Pack leadership
  • Bring an Aquanaut activity pin form or letter.
  • Bring a swimming suit & towel.

Scuba Discovery Session: 1:00 PM – 4:45 PM depending upon sign ups

  • Separate Fee from Swimming Fees above: $20 (payable at the door)
  • Sign up by 10/15/2014 to allow time to send medical form and liability waiver.
  • Bring a swimming suit & towel.

Unit and rank required swim checks:

  • Schedule will be arranged based upon demand and staff availability.
  • Review the requirements before attending.
  • Bring your handbook to be signed.
