Brotherhood

All members of the Order of the Arrow are equal: there are no ranks and all members are entitled to all the rights and privileges of membership in the Order of the Arrow.

The Ordeal membership is a beginning to the fulfillment of your membership in the Order.

After 10 months of service to your unit and the Lodge and fulfilling certain requirements, a member may take part in the Brotherhood ceremony, which places further emphasis on the ideals of Scouting and the Order. Completion of this ceremony at one of the annual Ordeals scheduled in the Tahaosa Lodge signifies your full membership in the OA. Additional Brotherhood opportunities may be scheduled during the tear.

Convenient help is available at a special area of the national Order of the Arrow web site which has been created to help new members of the Order of the Arrow learn about the Order of the Arrow. The "Jumpstart for New Arrowmen" area provides an introduction to the Order and its programs, and assists new members in sealing their membership in Brotherhood.

When you are ready, your Lodge is eager to encourage and help you prepare for Brotherhood membership. You can obtain more information from the Brotherhood Adviser or at your monthly chapter meeting.

Prepared. For Life.
