Welcome to Venturing!
Venturing is a year-round program for young men and women who are 14 (or 13 and have completed the eighth grade) through 20 years of age to provide positive experiences through exciting and meaningful youth-run activities that help them pursue their special interests, grow by teaching others, and develop leadership skills. You may find our Venturing Newsletter, The Venturing Times, informative. You can view the Venturing Crews in your area by going to www.beascout.org, and clicking on the Venturing Tab.

Venturing Officers Association Is Looking for Youth to Lead.
The Venturing Officer's Association, or VOA, is a group of youth officers at Council level. We are looking for youth to lead the VOA.
One of the VOA's purpose is to help council Venturing Advisors and professionals to get the perspective of the youth in the council. It allows the youth to develop leadership skills and gives the VOA Advisor and council professionals a resource to build the council's Venturing Program. Previous or current leadership in a Venturing Crew or Sea Scout Ship is not required.
In the DAC, there are four VOA officer positions:
VOA Vice President of Program
VOA Vice President of Administration
VOA Vice President of Communications (also known as secretary)
If you are interested in serving as a VOA Officer, you'll need to complete the Denver Area Council Venturing Officers Association Application. Send completed applications to: Josh Atherton, Team Leader, 10455 West 6th Avenue, Suite 100, Denver, CO 80215 or you can e-mail to Josh Atherton.
Contact Scott Elzas if you have any questions about the Venturing Officer's Association.

Does a youth member of your crew need financial assistance to attend the 2013 Jamboree, X-Games, Snow Snake Rendezvous or another Venturing activity? There are a limited number of funds available in the John Kullman Scholarship - a scholarship fund set up to help Venturers make it to camping activities. Contact Josh Atherton for more information.
