Welcome to Venturing!

Venturing is a year-round program for young men and women who are 14 (or 13 and have completed the eighth grade) through 20 years of age to provide positive experiences through exciting and meaningful youth-run activities that help them pursue their special interests, grow by teaching others, and develop leadership skills. You may find our Venturing Newsletter, The Venturing Times, informative. You can view the Venturing Crews in your area by going to www.beascout.org, and clicking on the Venturing Tab.

2015/2016 Venturing Schedule is Available Here.

Venturing Officers Association (VOA) Meetings Scheduled

The purpose of the Venturing Officers Association (VOA) is to provide support and guidance to maintaining and growing the Venturing program within the Denver Area Council.  You do not need to be an Officer in your home unit to attend meetings or to serve as a VOA Officer.

The DAC VOA meets the second Thursday of every month starting at 6:00 p.m., with a fun activity planned at Colorado Adventure Point from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Questions? Contact Venturing Officer Association Advisor Scott Elzas, 303-868-2774 or Colton, Denver Area Council Venturing Officer Association President, 720-441-2511.

The Venturing Leadership Award is presented by councils, areas, regions, and the BSA National Council to Venturers who have made exceptional contributions to Venturing and who exemplify the Scout Oath and Scout Law. Here is the Venturing Leadership Award (VLA) nomination form.

The Denver Area Council (DAC) Venturing Exemplary Volunteer Leadership Award was created by the Venturing Committee to award adult volunteers who have made exceptional contributions to Venturing. Here is the DAC Venturing Exemplary Volunteer Leadership Award Nomination Form.

Both nomination forms are due to Jack Marble by the close of business on Friday, December 12, 2015.

Snow Snake Scheduled for January 8, 9 & 10, 2016. Save the Date!!!

The Snow Snake Rendezvous is the annual Venturing winter campout. Snow Snake is planned and programmed by youth members so you know the program will be fun and exciting. The theme for the 2016 Snow Snake is:

To the Stars and Beyond!

The event will take place at Peaceful Valley Scout Ranch, January 8, 2016 - January 10, 2016. The nights are filled with board games, movies, bonding and surprises. The days are filled with fun activities that Ventures can take place in. Shooting, awesome trainings, scavenger hunts, cooked meals, and healthy competition are some of these events! Snow Snake is an awesome place to get to know other crews and Venturers in the Denver Area Council. It also will give you a chance to learn about some of the things going on in the council. Sleeping accommodations and meals will be provided, with the exception of the Dutch oven cook-off.

So get ready to have a fun-filled weekend with some close friends.  Here is a flyer to share with your crew.

You can register here.
