Welcome to Venturing!
Venturing is a year-round program for young men and women who are 14 (or 13 and have completed the eighth grade) through 20 years of age to provide positive experiences through exciting and meaningful youth-run activities that help them pursue their special interests, grow by teaching others, and develop leadership skills. You may find our Venturing Newsletter, The Venturing Times, informative. You can view the Venturing Crews in your area by going to www.beascout.org, and clicking on the Venturing Tab.

Venturing Officers Association (VOA) News
The purpose of the Venturing Officers Association (VOA) is to provide support and guidance to maintaining and growing the Venturing program within the Denver Area Council. You do not need to be an Officer in your home unit to attend meetings or to serve as a VOA Officer.
We encourage all Venturing Youth to attend this meeting, if possible. This is the place to voice your ideas on Venturing activities, events, ideas, etc.

New Procedures for Tracking Venturing Awards!
Rick Baldessari, Advancement Chairman, would like to be notified when Venturers receive any awards, especially the Ranger Award. As Venturing Awards are not being tracked by BSA, it is hard to know, as a Council, how many awards are being earned by Venturers.
Reminder that the Summit Award requires a Board of Review (BOR), and a District Representative must be a part of that BOR.
You can contact Rick directly with this information, or if you have any questions. Rick can be reached at 303-423-1887.
Denver Venturing is Going to the Summit! Join a Crew!
The National Scout Jamboree has been around since 1937. It is a 10 day gethering of Scouts from around the USA and invited countries around the world. It takes place every four years, and the upcoming Jamboree will be in July, 2017.
The Denver Area Council will be sending two Crews in 2017, and they are looking for interested parties.
