Kindergarten - 6th Grades

Do you want your school to have a culture of character? Do you want your students to have the perseverance and self discipline to succeed?

60 grade specific Lesson Plans

The lesson plans are age appropriate and  focus on developing 8 essential character traits - Respect, Responsibility, Honesty/Trust, Caring/Fairness, Perseverance, Self-Discipline, Courage, Citizenship and Life Skills. The lesson plans focus on developing Habits of Character and learning Life Skills. Lessons emphasize critical thinking, conflict resolution, perseverance, courage, interpersonal skills, and ethical decision making. A Home/Family Activity Worksheet is included with each lesson to continue the learning process within the home. Teachers can address issues in their class based on their specific classroom needs. Learning for Life is flexible and can be implemented as the teacher, grade team or school decide.

The Learning for Life program also includes our anti-bullying/internet safety program. Each book contains an interactive CD-Rom game for students titled “SuperSafe.” The game presents a series of six age-appropriate scenarios where students have to make choices about safety issues, which include Internet Safety, Nonviolent Strategies, and Youth Protection.

Character Assessments

Available for students in grades 2-6. The character assessment is done before schools start the lesson plans - the Pre test. The school is then given a report that includes both a school summary and a summary by grade. the answers are reported as a percentage. Then the Character assessment is repeated at the end of the school year - the Post Test. The data is again shared with the school in a report with school and grade summaries. A school can determine the effectiveness of the Learning for Life program based on the results.  As with all character programs the Learning for Life program is most effective when implemented with fidelity.
