Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills is a hands-on training program to give adult leaders the practical outdoor skills they need to lead Scouts in the outdoors. Imagine having hands-on knowledge about setting up a campsite, pitching a tent, hiking, outdoor cooking—all the skills necessary to see the outdoor program of the Boy Scouts of America come to life.

Equipment for this course they should bring is:

  • Boy Scout Handbook REVIEW ALL THE FIRST AID, KNOTS, LASHINGS, COMPASS AND CAMPING  information in the book BEFORE THE COURSE.
  • 6 foot piece of nylon blend rope 1/2" diameter
  • Flatplate orienteering compass
  • Personal mess kit
  • Waterbottle
  • Leather work gloves
  • Pocketknife
  • Flashlight
  • 10 essentials
  • BSA ID #
  • Paper and pencil
  • Heavy boots and warm clothes--you will be outside all day

For Demo:
Your personal sleeping bag for cold weather camping and your personal tent-

You are expected to sleep in their back yard outdoors , (or some other night that week ) on Friday night

Your registration fee covers; food, camping fees, and administrative costs.
