The course goal is to develop NRA Certified Basic Pistol Instructors who possess the knowledge, skills, and attitude necessary to conduct the NRA Basic Pistol Shooting Course.

Current NRA Basic Instructor Training (BIT) is a prerequisite. You must have successfully completed BIT within 2 years of the date of this course to be eligible to register.

Per revision of the NRa Basic Pistol Instructor Course by NRA in January of 2016, candidates must complete Phase I of the NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting Course through online training from NRA prior to attending an NRA Basic Pistol Instructor Course. Make sure you understand the online requirement before registering for this course. Register for the online portion here.

If a candidate arrives at the live instruction session of the course without possession of the Phase I completion certificate, he/she will not be allowed to participate in this course and no credit will be issued. No refunds will be issued if a candidate drops out less than 2 weeks before the course.

Cost of the class is $200 and includes the online portion of the course.

Bring: 3 ring binder, pen, pencil (for the test), notepaper, eye and ear protection, adequate clothing for the outdoor session. Candidates provide own handgun and at least 100 rounds of ammunition per candidate, limited to .22 rimfire though 9mm (no magnum, P, or P ).

Meals: Bring your own lunch, snacks and beverages. Evening meal is provided.
