Special Needs Awareness Training
Live Special Needs Awareness Training is available through the University of Scouting, to Roundtables, to units request ing it through their district training organizations and to others who are interested, This training is designed to raise special needs awareness among both youth and adult leaders. Our training team is happy to assist with this and other special needs training, whether within the Denver Area Council or at other councils. Contact: Steve Yexley via email or 303.506.9210.
Please join us for upcoming Special Needs Roundtables at Hamilton Scout Headquarters on the fourth Wednesday of the month at 7-9 pm:
- Wednesday August 27 hear a presentation on Bullying by Joe Black, a 35 year veteran of the Denver Police Department and currently Commander of the Juvenile Intake Unit/Information Desk.
- Wednesday September 24 learn about ADD and ADHD from Eric Hornak and Dr. William Todd of Children and Adults with Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (CHADD).
We periodically offer other Special Needs Roundtables on various topics. For a full listing of upcoming Roundtables (occuring the last Wednesday of the month at 7 pm) please visit the Special Needs or Council calendar.
