Excellence Through Trained Leaders
Does Scouting have a measurable, positive impact in the character development of young people? In a Tufts University study released in October 2015, youth who participated in Scouts were compared to those who had not. After 3 years it was discovered Scouts were significantly and measurably kinder, more helpful, cheerful, trustworthy, obedient and hopeful than non-Scouts.
Doesn’t it make sense then, that those who wish to be adult Scout leaders should apply themselves to becoming well-versed in the mission, values, aims and methods of this great movement? The more effective we adults are at delivering the program, the more positive results we will see among our youth.
